General Information
The first visit takes approximately 2 hours to put on
your initial set of lashes. The refill visits take generally 45 minutes
depending on how many lashes are needed.
You prepare for the visit by thoroughly cleaning your face and lashes
with mild "water based" cleaner. You can wear your contacts and bring
your glasses to your appointment for the treatment, if your would be
more comfortable. We need the eye area to be totally clean of any
products and oils.
IImmediately after application of your lashes, do not get lashes wet for
at least 24 hours to allow the glue to completely dry.
NaturaLashes™ can last up to two months or
longer with refills and depending on the natural growth cycle of your
eyelashes and how well you maintain your new lashes by following these
instructions. We recommend you get a touch-up/refill every two to four
weeks. Your lash technician has no way of determining where your
natural lash is in it's cycle prior to application. Extensions can only
be applied to mature lashes and lashes that are long enough to support
the extension. Some of these lashes are approximately 5 to 6 weeks into
their cycle and may be close to full maturity. This leaves a remaining
5 to 6 weeks left of your natural lash cycle. Maintenance is required
to replace what has fallen out.
Eyelash extensions are absolutely safe. No extension is ever attached
to the eyelid itself, but to the individual lash. The procedure will
not damage your eyelids or lashes, and is completely pain-free.
Do not use regular or waterproof mascara. Other brands of mascara
contain chemical properties and oils that will break down the adhesive.
If you want to further enhance your extended lashes, we have specially
formulated mascara that rinses off easily. You will probably decide you
don't even need mascara once you see the length and thickness the
extensions provide.
Take special care around the eye area when cleansing your face. Do not
scrub or rub your eyes. Avoid any type of oil-based product around the
eyes. Again, oils will break down the adhesive and cause the extensions
to fall off.
Never use a clamp-style eyelash curler on your extensions. This can
permanently damage not only the extensions but your natural lashes as
well. A heated eyelash curler can be used to prevent breakage while
giving your extensions an added curl. But again, this must be used
sparingly because heat can cause lashes to come loose. It is also a
convenient tool for grooming your lashes in the morning. NaturaLashes™™
have an extremely natural look and feel and are weightless.
Use a Q-tip to gently remove eyeliner around the eye.
No, you should not remove your own eyelash extensions. Doing so could
harm or damage your own natural lashes. Come in and have a technician
professionally remove them.
BEWARE OF IMITATIONS!!
Be careful of other semi-permanent extension techniques as they can
cause harmful reactions and damage the natural hair growth of your own
lashes!! Proper application makes all the difference on the look and
longevity of your extensions.
